Memorial Library -- FAQ and Policies: Challenge Book Policy

A fundamental role of a higher education library involves the ability to provide materials and resources that are representative of multiple viewpoints; enhance and support instruction, research, and service missions of the university; and guide the selection, deselection (or weeding), and reconsideration of library resources. In the event library materials and/or resources would be challenged, this policy is created to provide a venue to voice concern through a formal process.

Addendum A to the Library's Challenge Materials Policy. Memorial Library staff have established a materials selection policy and a procedure for gathering input about particular items. Completion of this form is the first step in that procedure. If you wish to request reconsideration of a resource, please return the completed form to the Director of Library Services.
